A lie is sometimes true when someone listens
To hear the things that one needs to be said
A single word that could alter the meaning
Is added or subtracted in one’s head
“I love you” seems so true when it is spoken
Yet in the air it sometimes changes shape
Upon its changing shape its truth is broken
Once broken, truth makes loving feel like rape
A lie is sometimes the moment given
But circumstance and time may change a fact
And once a fact is changed the change is written
And what was once your life is now an act
Can dead be really dead if one has risen
Can rising make the death become a lie
Is something never taken never given?
And is the truth erased by a ‘good-bye’?
A lie is sometimes true when someone listens,
To hear the words that will erase the pain

Denise
are you by any chance the daughter of Inge Borg and Pedereto Gilbel? If so, I think we may be distantly related
all the best
My father was Pedreto Gibel, but I don’t know an Inge Borg. So, I don’t know if we are or not.
Sincerely
Denise

my great aunt, wilhelmina goffe, married Aguinaldo Pedreto Gibel in NYC in, I believe, 1923. They had 3 children – Alva, Ronald and Alfanso. They divorced in around 1947 or so. ooops I got the Inge thing wrong. is their a katya or a lynn?
I recently published a history of jamaica and became curious about great aunt wilhelmina, or ‘aunt gibel’ as we called her, and what happened to her in the USA.
cheers
Yes, my that was my father and his first wife, Alva and Ronald are still alive, Katya is Ronald’s daughter and Lynn was my mother. his second wife. Send me your e-mail and I will put you in touch with them if you like.

Dear Denise
I just spoke with Alva in Pembroke Pines. She’s absolutely wonderful and I am thrilled to have found her. I contacted Ron in Brooklyn earlier. Thanks for all of your help. I worried I would never get the chance to meet them and now plan to visit with Ron soon as we live not far from one another in the NYC. I expect to visit with Alva before the year’s end, as well.
all the best
